Andy Williams, a musician who started his music career in the 50’s, said these words. Unfortunately, today this is still true.
Start Budgeting
Have you ever felt the excitement at the end of the month when you are calculating all the numbers you’ve filled in your budget, to finally find out how much you managed to save this month!? Probably not. Not a lot of people find it as exciting as I do, but I can assure you, it is a lot of fun! But maybe you have already tried out budgeting and still find it boring. I get it, everyone has different interests, likes and dislikes, and I hate to break it to you but whether you like it or not you need a budget, just like you need to brush your teeth or do your laundry. Otherwise you will suffer the consequences, some more sever than others.
“Using money you haven’t earned to buy things you don’t need”
As we use to say here in Sweden, a beloved child has many names, or in this case, a wise quote is said by many.Robert Quillen, an American journalist, wrote this in a column in 1928 and he is one of many who has made a version of the quote.
Achieve Happiness through Finances
I have always loved to save money and many people around me believe that my goal is to save as much as possible. Once in a while when I do spend a lot of money everyone are always surprised. I do like to save money, but my goal is not to become rich, my goal is not to have as much money as possible and people might ask then why I save so much. The answer is simple, I save with a dream and I spend with a purpose.
“Show me your budget, and I’ll tell you what you value.”
Joe Biden, an american politician about to end his term as Vice President of the United States, he also received the Presidential Medal of Freedom this week and he is the man who once spoke these wise words. We are all familiar with the expression “actions speak louder than words” and it is exactly what this is about.
Boost Your New Year’s Resolution with Finance
Happy new financially sustainable year! With a new year come new beginnings, new opportunities and it is also the time for new year’s resolutions. Some people love them and some people don’t like them at all. Personally I am one of those who love them! There are however one fact we all know about new year’s resolutions, we are not very likely to succeed and statistics indicate that the majority who makes a new year’s resolution will fail (and I don’t think this was a surprise to anyone). Even though I fall into the category of the failing majority, and I still haven’t managed to do a full pull up which was my new year’s resolution 10 years ago, I still love them! I do not think that my past failures should influence my future hopes.
